Message from the President

Dear Exhibitors, Breeders, Handlers, Distinguished Judges, Sponsors, Club Officials and Members of the Canine Fraternity,

It is my privilege and honour to welcome you to the 16th & 17th KCI Breed Point Championship Dog Shows, together with the German Shepherd Dog, Labrador Retriever, Golden Retriever and Dobermann Specialty Shows, proudly organised by the Kennel Club of Bhopal on 10th & 11th October 2026.

This championship is a celebration of responsible breeding, sportsmanship, friendship and our collective commitment to preserving and promoting purebred dogs in accordance with the highest standards of the Kennel Club of India (KCI) and the Fédération Cynologique Internationale (FCI).

As we gather for this prestigious championship, we also pause to honour the memory of a remarkable leader whose contribution to Indian cynology will remain unmatched — Mr. C. V. Sudarsan, Hon. Secretary of the Kennel Club of India and Senior FCI/KCI International Judge. We respectfully dedicate this championship to his cherished memory.

This year marks a historic milestone for the Kennel Club of Bhopal as we proudly host two KCI Breed Point Championship Dog Shows together with four Specialty Shows under one prestigious championship — a reflection of our commitment to promoting breed excellence, encouraging responsible breeding and organising canine events of the highest professional standards.

We are deeply honoured to welcome our distinguished FCI International Judges — Ms. Susan Bruno (Australia), Mr. Hungchih (Jerry) Chen (China) and Mr. Jae-Yong Kim (South Korea). Their presence adds immense prestige to this championship and offers exhibitors the privilege of presenting their dogs before internationally respected authorities.

Dear Exhibitors, Breeders, Handlers, Distinguished Judges, Sponsors, Club Officials and Members of the Canine Fraternity,

It is with immense pride and great pleasure that I welcome you to the 16th & 17th KCI Breed Point Championship Dog Shows, together with the prestigious German Shepherd Dog, Labrador Retriever, Golden Retriever and Dobermann Specialty Shows, organised by the Kennel Club of Bhopal on 10th & 11th October 2026.

On behalf of the Organising Committee and every member of the Kennel Club of Bhopal, I extend my heartfelt gratitude to the Kennel Club of India (KCI) for its continued guidance, encouragement and unwavering support, and I sincerely thank the KCI Managing Committee for reposing its confidence in our club by granting us the honour of organising four Breed Specialty Shows alongside our KCI Breed Point Championship Dog Shows.

As we celebrate this achievement, our hearts are also filled with profound sadness at the passing of Mr. C. V. Sudarsan. For me, this loss is deeply personal — Mr. Sudarsan was not only a distinguished administrator and respected international judge, he was my Guru. His guidance, encouragement, trust and belief in me shaped my journey in the canine world, and I shall remain forever grateful for the values he taught me: integrity, humility, discipline and dedication to the sport. This championship is my humble tribute to a teacher who believed in his students and inspired them to dream bigger.

We are equally honoured to welcome our esteemed FCI International Judges — Ms. Susan Bruno (Australia), Mr. Hungchih (Jerry) Chen (China) and Mr. Jae-Yong Kim (South Korea) — whose presence brings invaluable international experience and further enhances the prestige of this championship.

A first for our club — the first German Shepherd Dog Specialty Show in the history of the Kennel Club of Bhopal.

Mr. Pushkar Dubey serves as Vice President of the Kennel Club of Bhopal and is a member of the Show Committee for the 16th & 17th KCI Breed Point Championship Dog Shows, 10–11 October 2026.

Passion, dedication and professionalism are the foundations of every successful championship.

The Kennel Club of Bhopal is proud to have Mr. Vikrant Ambadkar serving as the Show Secretary for this championship.

A passionate canine enthusiast and an accomplished Dobermann fancier, Mr. Ambadkar has earned the respect of exhibitors and fellow dog lovers through his commitment to responsible dog showing, sportsmanship and meticulous event management. Over the years he has achieved distinction as a skilled handler, receiving the Best Handler Award on numerous occasions in recognition of his presentation skills, ring craft and dedication to the sport.

As Show Secretary, he has played a vital role in the planning and coordination of this championship, working closely with the Organising Committee to ensure that every aspect of the event is conducted efficiently, fairly and in accordance with the standards of the Kennel Club of India (KCI).

Breeder by passion, administrator by commitment and the steady hand behind many KCB shows.

If you have ever exhibited at a Kennel Club of Bhopal show, chances are Mr. Gopal Wania has already helped you — often before you even knew it. A long-standing and dedicated member of the purebred dog fraternity, he has spent many years around dog breeding, canine sport and the organised show community.

At the heart of the club

As Treasurer, he is one of the key people behind KCB's administration and day-to-day coordination. He looks after KCB–KCI coordination, official correspondence, documentation and the many show formalities that happen long before the first dog walks into the ring.

A breeder at heart

He breeds Golden Retrievers, Labrador Retrievers and Rottweilers. His programme is built on quality, sound pedigrees and carefully chosen international bloodlines, and over the years he has imported several dogs from different countries.

Reaching beyond India

His dogs and bloodlines are today represented in Russia and Thailand, and in 2026 one of his Golden Retrievers was shown in Italy — a proud moment for a breeder from Bhopal.

More than five decades of dedication to purebred dogs, judging excellence and breed preservation.

Susan Bruno has been actively involved in the world of purebred dogs for more than five decades. Beginning her journey in the late 1960s with German Shepherd Dogs, she went on to become one of Australia's most respected breeders, exhibitors and judges.

She is a licensed German Shepherd Dog Specialist Judge under the German Shepherd Dog Council of Australia, and achieved All Breeds Judge status after progressing through every judging group.

While German Shepherd Dogs remain her first love, she is widely known for her English Cocker Spaniels under the Cobalt prefix, including the breeding and ownership of multiple Supreme Champions. She has also handled German Shorthaired Pointers, Irish Setters, Golden Retrievers and American Cocker Spaniels. She has served numerous breed clubs and canine organisations as President, Show Secretary and committee member.

A lifetime dedicated to excellence in judging, breeding, grooming, handling and canine education.

Mr. Jae-Yong Kim is one of South Korea's most distinguished canine professionals, internationally respected for his expertise in conformation judging, breeding, grooming, handling and canine education.

He began his breeding journey with the German Shepherd Dog before expanding into the Golden Retriever, Bull Terrier, Dachshund, Alaskan Malamute, Siberian Husky, Borzoi, Fila Brasileiro, Dobermann Pinscher, Poodle, Bichon Frise and Maltese. His Dobermann breeding programme produced the No. 1 ranked Dobermann in South Korea for eight consecutive years (2007–2014).

Since 2009 he has operated the KimJaeYong Grooming Academy, mentoring professional groomers, handlers and exhibitors, and was the first Korean All Breeds Judge invited to officiate championship shows in Brazil, New Zealand, Indonesia and Myanmar.

A lifelong commitment to canine education, judging excellence and the development of the dog sport across Asia.

Mr. Chen has dedicated more than three decades to the advancement of the canine industry throughout Asia. His journey began in 1992 with Royal Dog Magazine, where he developed a strong foundation in purebred dogs, canine publications and the dog show world.

In 1995 he became actively involved in kennel club management, and in 1999 established PETFASHION Magazine, dedicated to responsible dog ownership, canine education and the exhibition of purebred dogs. He relocated to mainland China in 2002 to assist in the promotion and professional training of the dog sport, and since 2006 has been associated with the China Kennel Union (CKU).

He began his formal judging education in 2009, earning licences for Poodles and Chihuahuas in 2010, FCI Group 9 and Group 1 approvals in 2012, and CKU All Breeds Judge status in 2018. He continues to serve as a Standing Member of the CKU Dog Show Judges Committee.
